This Privacy Statement is effective as of January 8, 2021.
At QuickRecipe Companion, LLC (“QR Companion”), we recognize the importance of protecting your personal information and are committed to processing it responsibly and in compliance with applicable data protection laws in all countries in which we operate.
SCOPE OF THIS PRIVACY STATEMENT:
In the normal course of its business activities, QR Companion collects, uses, and sometimes shares personal information of various individuals and organizations in order to run its day-to-day operations and provide service related to its Application(s) for your use. This Privacy Statement applies to all users of QR Companion Application(s) and services and to visitors to QR Companion websites and QR Companion operated social media sites (we refer to the QR Companion website, applications/Apps, social media sites, and our products and services as “Sites and/or Services” in this Statement). This Statement describes QR Companion’s general privacy practices that apply to such personal information collection and use.
This Statement does not apply to: (1) personal information relating to employees, applicants for employment, or contractors providing services to QR Companion, and (2) user generated or created content that is uploaded to QR Companion Applications and services.
1. TYPES OF PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT
In describing our collection, use, and sharing of information in this Statement, we refer to our collection and use of “Personal Information.” “Personal Information,” as used in this Statement, is any information that identifies, describes, is capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular individual or household. Examples of Personal Information include identifying information such as an individual’s name, username, email address, phone number, or other similar identifiers, information about applications(s) or services purchased or used, browsing and search history.
2. HOW WE COLLECT YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
We collect Personal Information in three ways:
1. We collect Personal Information you provide to us in optional, voluntary submissions such as registration forms, user profiles, promotional signups, sweepstakes/contest entries, requests for customer service, and software and mobile installs or downloads.
2. We may collect some Personal Information automatically to perform a contract with you, where we have legal obligations to do so, or where our legitimate interests permit such collection. This is described below in “Passive Data Collection.”
3. We may also obtain information, including Personal Information, from third-party sources to perform a contract with you, where we have a legal obligation to do so, or where our legitimate interests permit such collection. If we directly combine information from third parties with Personal Information we have collected, we will treat the combined information as Personal Information and handle it in accordance with this Statement. In addition, please note we may solicit third parties to collect Personal Information on our behalf such as our use of the Heruko platform provider and, in such cases, we instruct those third parties to comply with this Statement and all applicable data protection laws.
Personal Information relating to Children
We do not knowingly seek or collect Personal Information from users under the age of 13 (a “Child” or “Children”).
In the event we learn we have collected Personal Information from a Child under age of 13, we will delete that Personal Information as quickly as possible. If you believe a Child may have provided us Personal Information, please contact us at privacy@QRCompanion.com
3. HOW WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
We only use your data as expressly set forth in this Statement. If a need arises to use your data for a secondary purpose, we will provide you prior notice of such use.
Communication and Responding to Requests
We use your information, including Personal Information, to provide you with different services such as customer support, processing transactions, responding to users’ requests, sending newsletters, updates, special offers and advertisements, seeking your opinions and feedback, and connecting you to other users of QR Companion Sites and/or Services as well as to products and services of our partners and licensees.
You can opt-out of newsletters and updates, special offers and advertisements and offering your opinions and feedback by contacting us at privacy@QRCompanion.com. If you elect to opt-out, we may be unable to provide you with the information contained in those materials.
We use your information, including Personal Information, and other non-personally identifiable information to operate, provide, improve, and maintain our Sites and/or Services, to develop new applications/Apps, products and services, to personalize other content for you, and for other administrative and internal business purposes. You can opt-out of providing optimization information by following the instructions in the applicable Sites and/or Services.
4. REASONS WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
We do not share your Personal Information with third parties except as noted herein. We may share your Personal Information as necessary to maintain business operations, such as with vendors working on our behalf (for example, delivery of services, payment services, security and storage platforms or services); as required by law or to respond to legal process; to maintain the security of our products; to monitor and enforce our rights as a licensor; to respond to an inquiry from a licensee concerning information in connection with users registered under their corporate email domain, to protect QR Companion’s customers, employees, rights, or property; as part of a merger or acquisition; or with your expressed consent.
5. WHERE WE STORE AND PROCESS YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
Personal Information collected by QR Companion will be stored in the United State via Heroku with its web site located at https://www.heroku.com/ and controlled and processed in the United States. The storage location(s) are chosen in order to operate efficiently, to improve performance, and to create redundancies in order to protect the data in the event of an outage or other problem. We take steps to ensure that the data we collect under this Statement is processed according to the provisions of this Statement and the requirements of applicable law relating to the Personal Information or you as a data subject.
6. HOW WE SECURE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
QR Companion uses a variety of security technologies and procedures to help protect your Personal Information from unauthorized access, use or disclosure a description of which is located at https://www.heroku.com/policy/security . While we implement safeguards designed to protect your Personal Information, no security system is impenetrable and, due to the inherent nature of the internet, we cannot guarantee that data, during transmission through the internet or while stored on our systems or otherwise in our care, is absolutely safe from intrusion by others. You should take steps to protect the security of your user account information, login, and password.
7. HOW LONG WE RETAIN YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
We retain Personal Information for as long as necessary to provide the applications and fulfill the transactions you have requested, or for other legitimate purposes such as complying with our legal obligations, resolving disputes, enforcing our agreements, and improving our Applications/Apps and services. Because these needs can vary for different data types, the context of our interactions with you or your use of applications, actual data retention periods can vary significantly.
When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your Personal Information, we will either delete or anonymize the Personal Information or, if this is not possible (for example, because your Personal Information has been stored in backup archives), we then securely store your Personal Information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.
8. HOW TO ACCESS AND CONTROL YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
You may access and review the Personal Information QR Companion stores about you and correct any factual errors. Most of your Personal Information may be accessed and corrected by simply logging into your account and accessing your profile. For any other changes, please contact us at privacy@QRCompanion.com.
If you are a California resident as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act (the “CCPA”), you have the following data protection rights:
• The right to request your Personal Information is not sold. QR Companion does not sell your Personal Information where we act as a controller of your Personal Information.
• The right to request that your activity is not tracked. Contact us at privacy@QRCompanion.com to stop tracking, if any shall occur.
• Please note that we don’t respond to “do not track” signals from web browsers.
